ABOUT OUR STUDIO: Hearts for the Arts is an art studio in Grand Rapids that is dedicated to enriching the lives of all people; young, old, disabled and non-disabled; through the therapy of art. We serve as an outlet to achieve creative expression in a way that promotes personal growth, confidence and self-esteem. We teach a wide variety of artistic methods and encourage creative independence by giving students the opportunity to experiment with different media, materials, and techniques, as well as the chance to collaborate with other artists. We strive to enrich the community with the diversity of art by holding art exhibitions as well as by giving artists the opportunity to sell their work in the Hearts for the Arts online store.
ABOUT OUR ETSY SHOP: Some of our students come to our studio funded by supported employment. With this funding we teach these individuals how to run their own business as a working artist. Sales and profit from their art not only allows them to make a living as an artist, but also keeps their funding available so they can continue to get support, art assistance and business education.
